Accolades
In the best selling "Dummies" book series,
"FILMMAKING FOR DUMMIES"
names Showcase Entertainment as one of the top 10 foreign distributors, along with Miramax and New Line.
SCREEN INTERNATIONAL
recently ranked US based foreign sales companies in its Issue #1149. Showcase Entertainment was listed as having one of the best reputations in the industry. The article in substance is as follows:
RANK AND SALE
Ever wonder which US-based foreign sales outfits enjoy the best reputations in the industry? In an attempt to answer that question, veteran Los Angeles entertainment attorney Mark Litwak has just published preliminary results for his Filmmaker's Clearinghouse, a Web site devoted to disseminating information about distributor performance. Independent film-makers were asked to assess the companies on a scale of one to five, judging them on such criteria as the quality of marketing materials and the timeliness of producer reports and payments. Among those scoring high overall marks were Amazing Movies, Overseas FilmGroup, Showcase Entertainment and Lakeshore International.
Festivals
Showcase attends many of the major film festivals each year including the Sundance Film Festival. In addition to acquiring films at such festivals, Showcase often has titles competing in the festivals. Recent examples include:
